Swedish Herring Salad

(Ready in about 10 minutes | Servings 3)


I created this salad after falling in love with Surströmming (Swedish for a lightly salted fermented Baltic Sea herring). 

This makes a perfect holiday salad as well.


INGREDIENTS :-

6 ounces pickled herring pieces, drained and flaked 

1/2 cup baby spinach 

2 tablespoons fresh basil leaves 

2 tablespoons fresh chives, chopped 

1 teaspoon garlic, minced 

1 bell pepper, chopped 

1 red onion, chopped 

2 tablespoons key lime juice, freshly squeezed 

Sea salt and ground black pepper, to taste


RECIPE :-

1. In a salad bowl, combine the herring pieces with spinach, basil leaves, chives, garlic, bell pepper, and red onion.

2. Then, drizzle key lime juice over the salad; add salt and pepper to taste and toss to combine. Smaklig måltid! Bon appétit!
